Here I am, on call again today. At this time, its just the beginning of my night at work. I had a very busy day as usual. Had a child who was fitting on and off and was in "status epilepticus". So, needed to intubate and ventilate the child. Then several other problems cropped up with the other patients in the PICU and ward. Only now am I able to sit down and have a rest.
This is what life is like as a doctor, especially in paediatrics. Well, I gripe about it on and off but then I wouldn't trade it for any other job in the world although the government pays us peanuts to work for them.
