Well another big milestone has passed in my career. I have finally presented my dissertation to my Professors in the department. Whew !!!! What a relief. I was actually awake till 1 am in the morning in order to be able to finish the thesis presentation in time. Then I got so nervous before the thesis that I couldn't sleep the night before :-)
All that effort wasted in worrying.... My presentation went off without a hitch, nary a question as to my statistical methods as well as my results and discussion. After that, there were no corrections to be made to my thesis, so I am now working at breakneck speed to finish up my manuscript. Well, after this, it just remains for me to present the thesis to the external examiner in November.
That's all for now folks. Gotta go back to working on my manuscript.

Well I have had the Honda City VTEC for nearly 2 weeks now. It's been a blast after coming off the Proton Wira (luckily my proton never gave me any problems; in fact it was still running smoothly before I sold it off !)
Anyway, the City has very good NVH. I sometimes can't even hear the engine running when I am sitting in the cabin of the car. Mileage has been not bad so far... getting around 15 km/l, especially on highway driving. Can't really rev up the car yet as hasn't gone beyond the 1000 km mileage mark.
Pickup has been good, and the gear-changes are awesome !! Just smooth and jerk-less.
Below are the side and rear view of my Honda City.

Got my new car today ! YAHOO !!! Bought a blueish silver Honda City. Its a spacious car inside and very smooth drive. Can't say much bout fuel consumption yet though. May have to wait a while first.

Hello everyone !! Was incommunicado for a while there. Been busy with the Chinese New Year and my thesis. But my workload has eased off. The latest news now is the avian-flu outbreak in the Klang Valley. Thank god its been confined so far the east side of the city around the National Zoo area within a radius of 30km. There have been no deaths reported so far and the spread of the disease appears to have been under control. Anyway, it still pays to be cautious when handling chickens, although they are still safe to eat as long as they are prepared well.
Overall, work has been pretty busy the past 1 month. As I have been working in the oncology ward, there are many procedures to be done and patients to be reviewed.
Earlier this month, Angelia and Sheldon had a BBQ do at their house in Bandar Utama. Had plenty of fun there as manage to meet up with old friends whom I had not met in a while. There was also a gathering of old school-mates in another friend's house for CNY. All in all its been a good CNY.
That's all the news for now. Ciao !!

Just had a wonderful weekend in Malacca. Went there for a friend's wedding and stayed in Renaissance Hotel. Great hotel with friendly service. Also had a visit to the Malacca Butterfly and Reptile Farm in Ayer Keroh with Veronica. Really loved spending time with my girl. Unfortunately, it rained the evening we arrived in Malacca so had to spend the evening in the hotel before the wedding dinner. Later that night, a friend of mine brought us out for the famous Malacca dish, "satay celup". Hmmmm...... yummy !!!
The next day had a walk to the historic area of Malacca, that is around the Stadhuys area. Then left for good old KL. That's all the entry for today everyone.

Hello everyone !!! I am now back on the blogging circuit. Was quite busy for the past 3 months as I was working in the Children's cancer ward. (Wait !....... before anyone asks, yes... children do get cancer too, eg. leukaemia, lymphomas etc.) A few good news concerning doctors in dear old Malaysia, mostly good news. I posted the increase in our on-call allowance a while back. Well what with the bureaucratic ineffeciencies and so on and so forth, we are now only receiving the increased allowance.
We have actually been bugging the MOH for the increase for a while now.... and persistence pays off, doesn't it ?The other good news would be being able to be promoted faster once you have passed the postgraduate program in the local universities and not having to sit for the stupid PTK exam thingy.
That's all for now folks. Take care out there and everyone have a heart for the victims of the earthquake in Pakistan.
